It can be distressing to see what happens to your body after pregnancy and breastfeeding. With a “mommy makeover” you can restore the firm, fit, slim appearance of your pre-baby body. As each person is different in what happened to the body, this process is called a “mommy makeover,” – a customized treatment to restore the breasts and body. Some of the most common body issues we can restore with our mommy makeover in Portland include:

  • Stretched or flabby tummy zone
  • Stretch marks
  • Droopy or deflated looking breasts
  • Stubborn pockets of fat on abdomen, buttocks, or thighs

To discover what procedures would be required to restore your body to its fit, youthful, firm appearance, meet with our team of friendly professionals in a private consultation. We are proud to be able to help mothers regain their confidence in their body image, no longer worried about hiding certain damaged areas under loose clothing, and free to wear revealing clothing styles and swimwear.

Am I a Candidate?

Are you living with a post-baby body that makes you feel less confident than you would like to be? Many young mothers are embarrassed about a stretched abdomen, stretch marks, saggy breasts, or fatty deposits lingering on buttocks, thighs, or at the waist after having children. If you are one of the countless women who struggle with these issues, you are probably a candidate for a custom mommy makeover.

Cost of a Mommy Makeover

The cost of a mommy makeover will vary, based upon the number of surgical procedures that will be performed to achieve full body restoration. It can be a savings to have several procedures performed in one surgical appointment, rather than scheduling several appointments, as there is less cost involved in administering anesthesia.

To find out what your mommy makeover would cost, we invite you to visit with us at our comfortable Portland clinic. We do all we can to help make it possible to have the procedures you want, when you want them, including providing various financing options. Let’s meet!

Recovery From a Mommy Makeover: What Should I Expect?

The recovery time will vary, but you need to plan for plenty of time to rest and recover, typically at least two to four weeks following your mommy makeover. A mommy makeover in Portland may involve several procedures, often an abdominoplasty to restore a flat, firm look to the tummy, along with breast lift, often with augmentation.

You will need to enlist the help of a family member or friend for the first several days after surgery. If you plan your journey and carefully follow all aftercare instructions, you will be feeling yourself within a few short weeks. It is normal to expect swelling and bruising in the early stages. For your comfort, you will have a prescription for pain medication, so you are comfortable.

Mommy Makeover FAQ

Can I have a mommy makeover if I am planning to have more children?

It is best to wait until you are done having children to undergo this surgery. Another pregnancy may once again affect your body and breasts.

How should I prepare for surgery?

Getting ready for a mommy makeover definitely requires some planning, particularly if you are still caring for younger children. You will be unable to lift your children for several weeks, or engage in any vigorous motions, particularly in the early stages. You will need to enlist help from family and friends – but the days pass quickly, and you will soon be seeing your restored figured emerging – it is very exciting and rewarding. With the right plan in place, your recover will proceed as it should.

Where are the incisions?

Incision placement depends upon what will be needed to resolve your current body and breast condition. For a breast lift, the usual incisions are around the nipple, with a vertical incision on the lower section of your breasts which will be hidden, even in revealing clothing. For a tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, the incision is typically placed from hip to hip, below the bikini line. For many women, the belly button is moved and may have a small scar around it. Each person is different, but these are common incision points.

Will I have visible scars after a mommy makeover?

It is not really possible to perform a full body and breast restoration without incisions, so you can expect scars. We carefully monitor and treat surgical scars, so they are as heal correctly. They fade over time, soon matching the rest of your skin, and are placed so they are hidden under even revealing styles of clothing.

When is the most appropriate time to get a mommy makeover?

It is best to have completed having children, and to be at a healthy weight before undergoing this surgery.

Will I be able to get rid of stretch marks?

In a tummy tuck, the excess skin is excised (removed). For stretch marks lower on the abdomen, some of these may be removed in the surgery, while others will be flattened and become far less noticeable.

Is a mommy makeover performed in just one surgery?

Some are performed in one surgery, while other women may require two separate surgeries. The number of surgeries needed will be based upon the individual needs of the patient, and how many areas are showing damage. You can trust our highly-professional team of board-certified plastic surgeons to care for you with the utmost attention to detail, and a focus on creating a result that brings you happiness in all the years ahead.
