For over 30 years, Dr. Sherman has been in private practice and at the forefront of the practice of body contouring. He received his undergraduate and medical degrees from Louisiana State University and did his residency in otolaryngology and maxillofacial surgery at Oakland Naval Hospital at the University of California San Francisco Medical Center. Dr. Sherman is board certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology/head and neck surgery.
As an early proponent of less invasive treatment options, Dr. Sherman firmly believes that these approaches provide better health and cosmetic results for his patients. He developed his specialty in Natural Fat Transfer under the guidance of Dr. Kotaro Yoshimura, the world’s foremost expert on Natural Breast Augmentation, in Tokyo, Japan.
Dr. Sherman plays an active role in advancing technologies, techniques and expertise in aesthetic medicine. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery, Founder of the California Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, past president of the American Society of Cosmetic Breast Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He also takes time to teach the next generation of cosmetic physicians as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery and Facial Plastic Surgery at the UC San Diego Medical Center and Veterans Hospital in La Jolla.
Dr. Sherman believes strongly in using his expertise to give back to the community. He regularly donates his time and services to victims of domestic violence through the About Face Program.
