The Difference Between Traditional & Micro-body Contouring

As technology and medical techniques evolve, so does the opportunity for more advanced cosmetic procedures. A breakthrough to the realm of liposuction is its excellent alternative called micro-body contouring. Fresno patients have found that this procedure not only exceeded their expectations in experience, but also were impressed by its quick recovery, and superior results.

What is Micro-body Contouring

Let's talk unwanted fat. It can be downright stubborn to say the least. MBC removes these areas of excess by utilizing Micro-body Contouring, paving the way to an improved shape and more flattering figure contours.

This removal process involves the use of small tubes called micro cannulas and ultrasound frequencies. Adipose tissue is then gently dislodged, and the cells are not destroyed. Unlike in traditional liposuction, this allows the opportunity to have natural fat transfer. Simply put, this is where unwanted fat cells are moved from one area and put into a different area of the body for increased volume.

How is Micro-body Contouring Different from Traditional Liposuction?

So yes, as stated, traditional lipo kicks the natural fat transfer possibility to the curb. It’s not that traditional liposuction hasn’t made a powerful impact on plastic surgery, but the modern advancements bring quite a few added benefits and advantages to the table. In fact, it has been suggested that micro-body contouring may eventually replace conventional lipo altogether.

The process of traditional liposuction is much more aggressive and more hard-hitting to the body. Sharper, harsher instruments are used to remove the fat and this can lead to increased downtime, and possibly cause uneven areas and tunneling.

Compared to traditional liposuction, the less invasive method of micro-body contouring:

  • Creates less bruising & swelling
  • Causes less bleeding
  • Produces smoother aesthetic results
  • Is performed on an outpatient basis, requiring no general anesthesia
  • Can be cheaper due to lack of hospitalization costs
  • The least amount of down time makes it ideal for a patient’s busy lifestyles
