Regain Your Feminine Curves.

Young breasts sit high on the chest, giving a lovely, youthful profile. As time and gravity take their toll, the skin that keeps breasts elevated stretches, causing them to droop on the chest. As breasts sag, they can look flattened, shrunken, or deflated. If you want to restore a perky, youthful profile, contact Athēnix today.

What is a Breast Lift?

A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises the breasts back to their original youthful position and restores the correct position of the nipples. Athēnix’s board-certified plastic surgeons have advanced skills and focus on minimizing scarring. The type of incisions used to resolve sagging breasts will vary based on the current condition and location of the breasts and nipples.

Is a Breast Lift for You?

If you are dismayed with the appearance of your breasts, a breast lift can restore a more youthful shape and projection. Mastopexy surgery corrects the following:

  • Sagging, droopy, or pendulous breasts
  • Loss of volume after breastfeeding
  • Breasts that appear deflated or flat
  • Breasts that lost volume due to weight loss
  • Loss of firmness
  • Downward facing areolas
  • Breasts that have dropped to a lower position due to loss of skin elasticity

How it Works

A breast lift removes excess skin and tightens and lifts the breasts. While a breast lift alone does not change breast size, a breast augmentation can be performed with a breast lift to correct lost breast volume or increase breast size. Your Athēnix plastic surgeon will determine how to achieve the most attractive and balanced look.

Anchor lift

The anchor breast lift is a surgical technique that involves incisions around the areola, vertically down the breast, and horizontally along the breast crease for a more extensive lift.

Crescent lift

The crescent breast lift is a surgical approach involving a crescent-shaped incision around the upper edge of the areola to elevate and reshape the breast for a subtle lift.

Circumareolar lift

The circumareolar lift technique employs an incision around the areola's perimeter to reshape and raise the breasts, often recommended for minor lifting and contouring.

Combining a Breast Lift With Other Treatments

Athēnix can help women achieve their desired breast appearance by combining a breast lift with other treatments for a comprehensive transformation. For example, a breast lift and tummy tuck can be included in a mommy makeover for women with sagging in both areas. Combining breast augmentation with a lift can provide perkier and larger breasts for a more dramatic transformation.

Breast lift results provide a more youthful, elevated breast contour. The procedure effectively combats sagging and enhances breast firmness, boosting self-esteem. While individual results vary, most patients enjoy improved clothing fit with long-lasting, rejuvenated breasts that enhance their figure.

Your Recovery Process

Immediately After & Day of

After the breast lift surgery, you’ll be taken to a recovery area and monitored by medical staff. Pain and discomfort are common, and you’ll be given medication to manage these symptoms. The breasts will be wrapped in bandages and a surgical bra to support them.

Following Days

You must rest and avoid strenuous activity for several days after the surgery. While you may still experience some pain and discomfort, this should gradually improve.

One Week Post-Op

After one week, you’ll return to Athēnix for a follow-up appointment. Your surgeon will remove the bandages, assess the healing process, and determine whether you still need to wear a surgical bra for support.

Two Weeks

You can usually return to work and resume light activities. However, you should still avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise.

Six Weeks

After six weeks, you can usually resume normal activities, including exercise. The breasts will have healed, and the scars will begin to fade.

Three Months

At three months, you’ll follow up with your Athēnix surgeon. The scars will continue to fade, and the breasts will have settled into their new position.

Six Months

At six months, the breasts will have fully healed, and the scars will continue to fade. You can expect to see the final results of the breast lift surgery at this point.

Is a breast lift safe?

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is generally considered safe when performed by a qualified and experienced plastic surgeon in an accredited medical facility. To ensure safety, it's important to thoroughly discuss the procedure, its potential risks, and expected outcomes with your surgeon and follow their pre and post-operative instructions.

How do I choose the right surgeon for my breast lift?

Selecting the right surgeon is crucial for achieving the best results. Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon with experience in breast lift procedures. Research their qualifications, view before and after photos of their work, and read patient testimonials to get a sense of their expertise and patient satisfaction.

Will a breast lift leave visible scars?

Like any surgical procedure, a breast lift will result in some scarring. However, our skilled plastic surgeons employ techniques to minimize scarring and make them as inconspicuous as possible. Over time, scars tend to fade and become less noticeable.

Can I breastfeed after a breast lift?

Breast lift surgery should not typically interfere with your ability to breastfeed. However, it's essential to discuss your intentions regarding breastfeeding with your surgeon during your consultation to ensure that the procedure is performed in a way that minimizes any potential impact on your ability to breastfeed in the future.

Is there an age limit for getting a breast lift?

There is no specific age limit for a breast lift. The suitability for the procedure is determined by your individual health and aesthetic goals rather than age. Your surgeon will assess your candidacy during a consultation.

Can I undergo a breast lift if I have a history of breast cancer or breast augmentation surgery?

Breast lift procedures can be adapted to accommodate various medical histories and previous surgeries. If you have a history of breast cancer or previous breast augmentation, discuss your medical background with your surgeon to determine the best approach for your breast lift.
